2013 GRPP - Call for Applications

The CLA Graduate Research Partnership Program (GRPP) is a graduate student fellowship program that supports research partnerships between faculty and students enrolled in graduate programs housed within CLA.

The program provides a summer research stipend of $4,000 to graduate students to support their professional, scholarly and creative development while collaborating with a faculty project adviser on scholarly research and creative activity.

The application and review process is conducted within each graduate program. SJMC can give two awards this year and one may be used to support dissertation research. Applications will be reviewed by the Graduate Affairs Committee members.

The competition is open to graduate students in Mass Communication. Students are ineligible if they have incompletes in official program coursework from a prior term on their transcript. Previous recipients of this award are also not eligible to apply a second time. As a condition of the award, CLA GRPP Fellows may not hold summer appointments in excess of .25 FTE. Students receiving other University of Minnesota fellowships, including department fellowships, during the period are ineligible for the CLA GRPP Fellowship. Students may hold external fellowships if the request is approved by their department's CLA GRPP selection committee. Students may not register for courses, except during May term, while they hold a CLA GRPP Fellowship.

Please note that the kind of non-competition-based fellowships we give to you (e.g., Hubbard, Kramer, etc.) are not considered University of Minnesota or Department fellowships mentioned above.

Application submission deadline: April 12 (Friday) noon. Please use the application form at the bottom of this post. Submit your materials to Angie Rehn in 110 Murphy Hall.

Please carefully review the Guidelines and FAQs at http://cla.umn.edu/intranet. /grad/grpp.php.
