The School of Journalism and Mass Communication is pleased to announce that graduate student Soyoon Kim was awarded the University of Minnesota's 2013-14 Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Award for her dissertation, "Challenging Bipolarity in Persuasive Health Communication: Tests of the Activation Patterns and Consequences of the Avoidance-Approach Motivations Explaining Media Health Message Effects."

Congratulations are in order for Prof. Marco Yzer. SJMC graduate students nominated him for the 2013 COGS Outstanding Faculty Award and he has been selected as the recipient.
