Varian Paper
Question: Why is bundling such a great idea? Will it become more popular?
Well according to this paper bundling is refered to as the practice of selling two or more distinct goods together for a single price. I think an example of this would be i bought my notebook computer for so much and with the computer the company gave me a free printer. But here is the thing the printer wasn't a good one it was just a standard printer that would be needed for simply tasks such as prining off a school paper. so i think the target market was aimed towards students attending school and they offered the "FREE" printer as a bundle to make it sound like i was getting a better deal. So in this instance bundeling is a good idea its a selling tactic to make the product sound better than just getting the computer. I don't know if many companies can just give free things away when sellin products but the example in the paper about the word processor and the spreadsheet is also a good idea because the seller will end up making more a a profit then if he sells them seperately. So maybe this really isn' that new of a trend its one that has been around for awhile and it working very well.
