Gophers, Badgers skate to tie

The opening round of the "Border Battle" with the Wisconsin Badgers belongs to Minnesota Friday.
The Badgers were called for two major penalties that helped the Gophers build a big edge in shots on goal in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play in front of a full house of more than 10,079 on Friday night, Nov.16, at Mariucci Arena, reported by the Star Tribune.
The two teams entered the third period tied at 2-2, but Peterson held his ground the rest of the way and finished with 41 saves, reported by the Minnesota Daily.
The Gophers and Badgers will conclude their weekend series Saturday at Mariucci Arena.

Sex Abuse Case against Syracuse's Find Dropped

Federal prosecutors have ended their criminal investigation of former Syracuse assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine Friday without charging him.
Fine was accused of molesting a child in 2002, but U.S. Attorney Richard Hartunian said Friday that there was not enough evidence to pursue the case.
Last November, former Syracuse ball-boys Bobby Davis and Michael Lang accused Fine of fondling them, starting as teenagers. The statue of limitations on prosecuting those charges had run out, but then several days later Zach Tomaselli accused Fine of attempting to molest him in 2002 while Syracuse was playing in Pittsburgh, reported by the Fox News.
Fine had denied the charges against him but was fired from his job as coach Jim Boeheim's longtime assistant at Syracuse and moved out of the area, reported by the USA Today.
Fine was not immediately available for comment.

Delonte West Denies Old Rumor about LeBron James' mom

"Unfortunately, my sources in the NBA tell me that it's absolutely true. Mu sources, and they're legit, tell me that the only people that didn't know it was happening was LeBron and me." Calvin Murphy, Basketball Hall of Famer took to the airwaves with the rumors two years ago.
Delonte West, LeBron James' Cleveland Cavalier teammate stood his point through a long feature on West by The Dallas Morning News Sunday. "What are we teaching our kids if we try to make humor and fun out of stuff like that?" West said of the rumor. "Number one, something like that never happened. I don't know where they got that from," reported by the USA Today.
The rumor never was proven true, and the rumor has no clear origin. However, according to the Huffington Post, this rumor first started to explain the Cleveland Cavaliers' poor play and unexpected collapse in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Extreme athlete Felix Baumgartner landed gracefully on Earth after a 24-mile jump Sunday from the stratosphere in a dramtic, record-breaking feat that may also have marked the world's first supersonic skydive.
The jump was postponed on Monday and Tuesday because of unexpected winds. Baumgartner has been working his way up to this world record jump from the edge of space for the past few years, twice running into speed bumps, reported by the USA Today.
Baumgartner came down safely in the eastern New Mexico desert minutes about nine minutes after jumping from his capsule 128,097 feet, or roughly 24 miles, above the Earth, reported by the Star Tribune.
Baumgartner has said he plans to settle down with his girlfriend and fly helicopters on mountain rescue and firefighting missions in the United States and Austria.

A 49-year-old architect who had grown up in central Iowa, Mark Williams rooted passionately for his Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
As a principal with HKS Inc., the Dallas-based architectural firm hired to design the $975 million multipurpose stadium that will replace the Metrodome, home of Vikings.
While the design is yet to be determined, the project will certainly be inspired by HKS's recent work on Lucas Oil Stadium, in Indianapolis, reported by the Star Tribune.
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has promised to sign the bill, a $975 million plan to build on the Metrodome site in downtown Minneapolis with just over half the cost paid with public money, reported by the ESPN.

Ronaldo's Hat Trick Leads Real Madrid to Route

Christiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick to lead Real Madrid to a 5-1 victory over Deportivo La Coruna Sunday at the Bernabeu, Spain.
Real Madrid reduced the gap at the top of the Primera Division to eight points ahead of next weekend's 'El Clasico' match at Camp Nou, reported by the USA Today.
Ronaldo's 17th career hat trick lifted him even with Barcelona's Lionel Messi with six goals each through six rounds.
"It was an important win, because we knew we couldn't drop any more points," Ronaldo said. The biggest rival match, el clasico, is scheduled on Oct. 7, at Camp Nou, the Guardian reported.

For Korean players, Europe is no longer about the big clubs

After winning a bronze media at the Olympic Games, a new era for South Korean soccer began, which brought out a great result in this weekend all around Europe.
Park Ji-sung, the biggest star from Korea, became the captain of Queens Park Rangers. He has come out five games in a row with the role of captain, since this season began. Even though QPR lost the game Saturday, he did a great job as a captain, reported by the Korean Times.
According to the Associated Press, the biggest star in this weekend was Hamburger SV's rising star, Son Heung-Min from South Korea. Son scored twice, and Borussia Dortmund's 31-match unbeaten run in the Bundesliga was ended Saturday.
In Barcelona, Spain, Park Chu-Young scored in his home debut for Celta Vigo to earn a victory against Getafe Saturday. For sure, there is also a Korean wave on the soccer field.

Derrick Rose Cries at Shoe Promo, Rehab on Schedule

The Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose, broke down into tears after watching the video of his season-ending injury was played during a promotional event on Thursday.
On this event, Derrick took the time in an impromptu discussion to thank all the people around him, after watching the viewing of a promotional clip that detailed his long rehabilitation from knee surgery, reported by Yahoo sports. Rose had surgery on May 12 which expected to miss most of 2012-13 season.
However, Adidas has made several promotional commercials of Rose's return instead of the contract destruction, the USA Today reported.
