GLBTA Leadership Year - one course in fall and spring, plus may session

The GLBTA Leadership Year is an exciting new initiative offering an integrated, year-long learning experience for any and all interested undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota - running through GLBT 3610 in fall semester, GLBT 3301 in spring semester, and culminating in a May term course where students travel to Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. for intensive study and dialogue with national leaders of the GLBTA rights movement.

The GLBTA Leadership Year offers students an opportunity to learn first-hand about gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and ally identities, histories and politics - through an exciting combination of coursework, service learning, and study away.

Students will be exposed to both practical and theoretical understandings of leadership, community, and social movements, by studying, working, and traveling together as a community throughout the entire academic year.

Students participating in the GLBTA Leadership Year can count their coursework toward the GLBT Studies Minor, the Leadership Minor, and/or a GLBTA Leadership Certificate.

Visit the GLBTA Programs Office site for details.
