Free Apple seminar: Preparing Students for the Creative Economy
The U of M Bookstore along with Apple Computer are hosting free educational seminars on October 15 at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the U of M Bookstore in Coffman Memorial Union. The Seminar, features Dan Senstock, Creative/Pro Apps Development Executive with Apple Computer.
During this 2 hour session, Dan will discuss the state of the Creative Economy, Global competition and what role education has in preparing students across multiple disciplines for the Conceptual Age.
Dan is currently a Development Executive in Pro Applications for Apple Education with much of his focus on the implementation of creative tools for the 21st century learner and preparing students for the Conceptual Age. In his role, Dan works with schools in the Central U.S. in both K-12 and Higher Education and also oversees the Creative Certification program for the Central U.S.. Dan also speaks at local, state and national conferences and hosts workshops that center around curriculum integration of creative tools into learning environments.
Prior to coming to Apple, Dan was an Apple Distinguished Educator, with nearly 15 years in the classroom in both the Los Angeles area as well as Lincoln, Nebraska. Dan also served as the Lincoln Public Schools District Technology Coordinator for Secondary Schools and helped to create one of the first Focus Programs in Digital Media and Film in the country. Dan has won multiple state teaching awards in both Nebraska and California and is currently working on a documentary that takes a look at the "Disintegration of Small Town America".
