National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association Student Membership Available

If you're LGBT and interested in a career in journalism, public relations or media, there is no better way to network with professionals already in those careers than to become a student member of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA).

NLGJA is an organization of journalists, media professionals, educators and students that works within the news industry to foster fair and accurate coverage of LGBT issues. We have student opportunities and resources for everyone.

As an NLGJA student member, you will gain access to NLGJA's online membership directory and receive invitations to local and national networking events, both of which will put you in direct contact with journalists and media professionals from all mediums who are interested in advancing your career. If you're interested in joining, visit
http://www.nlgja.org/membership/Student_benefits.htm

If you have questions about joining NLGJA and building a student group as part of the Minnesota Chapter, contact National Board Member Patty Mattern at mattern@umn.edu

Why join NLGJA now? NLGJA will be marking its 20th anniversary in 2010. There will be great opportunities for students when next year's convention convenes in San Francisco, where the organization was founded.
