Internet Broadcasting seeks three interns
St. Paul-based Internet Broadcasting, which produces online news content for television stations across the country, seeks three interns.
National news intern: The intern should have a strong interest in the news (is on top of the news daily) and should have strong writing skills, including command of AP style. This person will be writing headlines, making news judgments, researching interactive news pieces and looking ahead to fill out the national news planning calendar.
Vertical content: We are looking for an intern to assist with vertical content, ranging from daily features to special sections. Some projects may include conducting research for interactive features, writing feature stories, working in the CMS, writing on-air teaser text, participating in brainstorming sessions for new feature ideas and helping to build slideshows. This position is best suited for a creative person with an interest in journalism.
Social Media/Search:
The S3O (Search, Social Media, Syndication) intern should have an interest in hyperlocal journalism, search engine syndication and social media. Duties will include curating lists of towns and neighborhoods for dozens of top Nielsen markets, then discovering local publications that match each region. The student needs to be comfortable using a search engine and be familiar with RSS feeds. A genuine interest in learning more about the power of search engines will be helpful. There will be minimal, but some, e-mail and phone communication required. News judgment a must.
