Finland to offer month-long foreign correspondent program
The Embassy of Finland is accepting applications for scholarships to support a month-long foreign correspondents' program.
The program provides opportunities for newly graduated or soon-to-be-graduating journalists to gain a better understanding of Finland and its culture. The program runs Aug. 1 through 26 and includes briefings on Finland today, meetings with professionals and politicians and visits to businesses, cultural sites and institutions. The program includes a weekend as a guest of a Finnish family as well as trips to different parts of Finland.
The scholarship covers the cost of travel to and from Finland, local travel in Helsinki, accommodation in a single room in a student residence and the daily program, including meals, events, transportation and lodging. The scholarship does not cover medical insurance or per diem allowance.
Students interested in applying for the program should see 110 Murphy Hall or the bins outside the Digital Media Studios for more information. Application forms are available at www.finland.org and must be submitted via e-mail to:
