Minnesota Journalism Center to co-sponsor first lecture on the history of Latino media

Felix Gutierrez, professor at the Annenberg School for Communication, will discuss and show his documentary film, "Voices for Justice," September 22nd in Walter Library in an event co-sponsored by the Minnesota Journalism Center and the Department of Chicano Studies.

This interactive talk will explore the role of Spanish and bilingual press in Latin communities in the US and abroad and is the first of its kind discussing the history of Latino media. Gutierrez's exhibit features 20 minutes of his "Voices for Justice" documentary, as well as a photographic timeline on the history of Latino media.

The event will be held in Walter Library's Digital Technology Center, room 402, from 5-7 p.m., Sept. 22. All are welcome to attend.
