Keith Moyer, former publisher of the Star Tribune, took his Media in the Marketplace class to Hubbard Broadcasting on Thurs., Oct. 13.
There, students got to tour the newsroom, hear from producers and view a newscast as it happened. Students not only saw the production side of things, but talked with the business side as well, hearing from advertising representatives and traffic managers as well.
Media in the Marketplace allows students to learn about the business aspects of publishing and to explore what it takes to run a news media company.
The class was offered again in spring 2012 and includes field trips to the Minnesota Twins, Fallon advertising in Minneapolis and Clear Channel.
