Finance Writer Gail MarksJarvis Honored with 2012 Award of Excellence

Award-winning personal finance columnist Gail MarksJarvis is the 2012 recipient of the University of Minnesota School of Journalism & Mass Communication Alumni Society's Award of Excellence. MarksJarvis is a national expert on personal finance.

GailMarksJarvis resized.jpgThe board noted MarksJarvis's longstanding, respected career and her position as one of the nation's most respected personal finance columnists. Her book, "Saving for Retirement Without Living Like a Pauper or Winning the Lottery," has been called a "cover-to-cover must-read for everyone 16 to 60 who wants to live the American Dream," by Dallas Salisbury, CEO of the Employee Benefit Institute and American Savings Education Council.

In addition to weekly columns in the Chicago Tribune, her advice on personal finance and investing has been heard on National Public Radio's "Marketplace," "Talk of the Nation," "Sound Money" and on national programs on ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates.

Prior to her writing personal finance columns, MarksJarvis spent a decade covering business and wrote for such publications as USA Today to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
