On May 9, 2013, nearly 15 students across University of Minnesota majors presented a prototype for an iPad app for the Weisman Art Museum on the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus.
SJMC assistant professor Brendan Watson was awarded AEJMC's Nafziger-White-Salwen Dissertation Award for the top dissertation in mass communication research. His dissertation is titled, "Is Twitter a Counter Public? Comparing Individual and Community Forces that Shaped Local Twitter and Newspaper Coverage of the BP Oil Spill."
SJMC professor Jisu Huh has been named vice president of the American Academy of Advertising. Her term will run one year beginning in 2014.
