Faculty Member Dona Schwartz's Work Featured on National News Outlets

Associate professor Dona Schwartz's latest project "On the Nest" has been promoted in media outlets around the world and now, in the past week, has garnered attention from the Huffington Post, Slate and The Daily Mail.

Dona SchwartzKnown for her humanizing and poignant photojournalism, Schwartz's "On the Nest" showcases parents in their children's bedroom after the child has left the home.

The photos showcase the parents in a variety of situations -- whether they've left their child's bedroom untouched or have renovated it, feelings of emptiness and grief fill the photos.

"On the Nest" was most recently exhibited at the Fine Art Museum in Krasnodar, Russia and has been honored with a number of awards, including an honorable mention at the 2011 Santa Fe Prize for Photography and third prize in the 2011 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize, awarded by the National Portrait Gallery in London.
