When I read chapter 1 to Cyber literacy I cannot say that i was anything less then extremely bored. Granted the article was interesting and provided a lot of both positive and negative aspects of technology and more specifically the internet. However I disagree with the author's take on technologies affect on society and future generations. He/she viewed technology as a potential downfall for literacy due to over reliance, I on the other hand view new technology as a chance to apply skills that would seem to enhance literacy and other such areas. Personally I used to do very little writing outside of school, until I got a cell phone and created a facebook account. After that I wrote all the time, granted most of it was simply text, but nonetheless writing is writing. Perhaps my differing view point is why I didn't fully enjoy this reading, I love technology, period.
