Issue 5
Issue 5: Which version of U2's "Elevation" is better: the album version, the Tomb Raider mix, or the Influx mix?
This is a tough one. On the one hand I am usually partial to original, album released recordings. However in this case I may have to give both mixes the nod over the album version of "Elevation." The Tomb Raider mix absolutely rocks, and the Influx mix is so different and refreshing that I find myself wishing they had used that version on All That You Can't Leave Behind. In the end, though, the rankings break down as such:
- Elevation Tomb Raider mix
- Elevation Influx mix
- Elevation (album version)
The Greet Machine has spoken.

I've heard "Elevation" played far too much as of late. Now this morning, "Grace" came up on the ol' iPod and it was a song I had forgot about. It was refreshing to hear it again.
Ever have that happen? You hear a great song so much that you start to hate it. Then years later you hear it again and fall in love all over again.
Another quirky thing...if I like a song the first time I hear it, I usually end up tiring of it very quickly. A song that I may not like right away but come to appreciate usually has much greater staying power with me.

Yes, that happens to me all the time. "With or Without You" by U2, actually, is a song like that for me.
And I also agree that the album version of Elevation is a little weak for me at this point. Have you ever heard the Influx mix? It is way different. And the Tomb Raider mix is just plain powerful. If you'd like, I can send them to you to listen to...

What a horrible movie, though. It ranks as probably the worst movie I have ever seen. I couldn't believe how stupid it was. That gives me another idea for a post ...

You mean that movie had a plot? I was just enjoying the scenery.
