Happy New Year!

UPDATE: Sorry for my silence everyone. Details are sketchy, but I have been in contact with the MBA, New Ballpark, Inc. and the owners of the land. As freealonzo suggests in the comments below, Sid is missing some of the key details (as usual). But so am I. I am waiting for a document from Rich Pogin, spokesperson for the land owner, which hopefully will shed some more light on the problems with the land acquisition.

After sifting though the information I have, my heart tells me not to fear, that something will be worked out. I can't believe we could get this far and have it all blow up. More tomorrow (1/3), I promise.

Same item, one purchased December 30, 2006, and one purchased January 1, 2007. Can you spot the difference?

Happy New Year everyone!

(PS -- I've got some things to say about Sid's column yesterday. Stay tuned...)

Shane-
Have you talked to Bruce about all this? What is his side of the story? Inquiring minds (and nervous Twins fans) want to know.

I've corresponded a little with people on both sides. Nothing earth shattering, but I'll share what I have.

Shane,

I sure hope those extra 3 pennies didn't set you back too much...Just remember that somewhere in Hennepin County, Penny Steele is crying for your loss of money and because you paid, you no longer can afford to feed your children.

I also read that Sid article about the landowners....Yikes...Please share what you know soon!

I'm still corresponding with people, trying to understand exactly what the problem is. It may be a story that slowly develops. Sorry for the delay.

The wing and rib shack a few blocks from my house is raising the (tax included) price of its wing special from $15.00 to $15.25 "because of the stadium tax." Funny, the additional tax on a $15.00 dollar order is 2.25 cents! I guess they're charging 10 times the stadium tax amount for handling all that extra money.

As for Sid article...You're gonna respond to a guy who wrote that the Gophers should hire Lou Holtz again? Surprised he didn't suggest Bud Grant and Lou Holtz as co-coaches until their sons were ready to step in. Sid is nuts, that's all I can say.

The interest on that 3 cents will have long term negative implications for your credit rating!
