- Happy Reformation Day! Today is the day Martin Luther tacked his 95 Theses to the Wittenburg church door. What else could top that for the day's significance?
- Starship Dimensions. This site is so cool, the geek in me is overwhelmed.
- Neighboroo. Awesome mashup between Google Maps and demographic data. Enter your zip code for more specific data for your town.

The Risk Pool: What’s behind Ireland’s economic miracle—and G.M.’s financial crisis?
"Under the circumstances, one of the great mysteries of contemporary American politics is why [GM C.E.O Rick] Wagoner isn’t the nation’s leading proponent of universal health care and expanded social welfare."
Dealer's Choice
Another reason GM is faltering. More-short sighted thinking. Man, I'm going to have to subscribe to the New Yorker, I think. Good stuff in this magazine.
AOL Search Logs Search
If you didn't hear (and I'd be surprised if you didn't) a while back AOL willingly released a couple months of random (and seemingly) anonymous search engine data from AOL Search. This proved to be a huge mistake as some of the search data proved so unique that some people were in fact identified. Oops.
The link above details the searches people performed with each user given, again, a seemingly anonymous ID number. You can search for a keyword, or search by user ID. Take, for example, user ID 711391:
Over the course of a couple of months, user 711391 searched for "mansfield first assembly," "probation officer dan myers," "how do you break off an affair," "why do parents abuse their children," "canyon gate at northpointe tomball texas," "how do you get over an affair that was a mistake," "pictures of sluts," "symptoms of strep throat," "christian poems," "salem lutheran church tomball tx" and so much more, a lot of which I don't want to put into print here.
So, we have a person that may live in Mansfield or Tomball, Texas, who may know a probation officer named "Dan Myers," who may have recently had an affair, who may have been a victim of child abuse, who might like online porn, who maybe recently had strep throat, and who might be a Christian. And this is just a small set of example searches performed by this user, or set of users. How hard would it be to figure out who this person is? Not very, I would wager, if you really put your mind to it.
What a royal screw up for AOL. And to think they were already reeling...
Sufjan Stevens live on "Morning Becomes Eclectic" with Nick Harcourt
I know, I know ... I have linked to something about Sufjan Stevens before. And I know some of you (cough * freealonzo * cough) don't like the music of Sufjan Stevens. But I would wager you are in the minority. This is a link to a video from the show "Morning Becomes Eclectic" from KCRW out of Santa Monica College in California. If you like the music of Sufjan Stevens, this video is 39 minutes of musical bliss. Plus, according to a part of this Wikipedia article Minnesota may be on his short list for states to tackle.
Disowning Conservative Politics, Evangelical Pastor Rattles Flock
“More and more people are saying this has gone too far — the dominance of the evangelical identity by the religious right, Mr. McLaren said. “You cannot say the word ‘Jesus’ in 2006 without having an awful lot of baggage going along with it. You can’t say the word ‘Christian,’ and you certainly can’t say the word ‘evangelical’ without it now raising connotations and a certain cringe factor in people.
“Because people think, ‘Oh no, what is going to come next is homosexual bashing, or pro-war rhetoric, or complaining about ‘activist judges.’
I don't care who you are, this is a problem. Thank the Lord pastors like Greg Boyd, Randall Balmer, Jim Wallis, Tony Campolo, and Rick Warren are trying to bring the message back to Jesus and His message.
You may also know that the above New York Times article prompted our friend Nick Coleman to write his own article about this topic. This prompted me to say, "Even a pig finds a cherry every now and again."
That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Random thoughts
First of all, I must apologize for the problems I'm sure you've been having getting to this site. As you probably know, the site is hosted by the UThink blog server at the U of M. UThink as a whole has been seeing increased traffic in recent days on a number of blogs, so much traffic in fact that it is bringing the server to its knees. Usually, increased traffic on a site would be a good thing. However, it has caused me nothing but problems.
So, today we are working on upgrading the server. This hopefully will fix the problems for good. Thanks for your patience.
You know, yesterday I was joking around when I called T-Paw: Tim "Scooby Doo Where Are You" Pawlenty. But it is absolutely amazing how appropriate the Scooby Doo theme song is for our silent governor. Check this out:
![]() T-Paw! Don't make Goldy cry! | T-Paw Doo, Where Are You? T-Paw, T-Paw Doo, Where Are You? We got some work to do now. T-Paw T-Paw Doo, Where Are You? We need some help from you now. Come on T-Paw Doo, I see you... pretending you got a sliver But you're not fooling me, cause I can see, the way you shake and shiver. You know we got a mystery to solve, So T-Paw Doo be ready for your act. Don't hold back! And T-Paw Doo if you come through you're going to have yourself a T-Paw snack! That's a fact! T-Paw, T-Paw Doo, here Are You. You're ready and you're willing. If we can count on you T-Paw Doo, I know you'll catch that villian. |
Well, as you can see, the only place where this new theme song falls through is the ending line ... unless you consider Steve Kelley to be a villain. But you may not. Anyone got any suggestions for the last stanza?

It's been a long time. Here are some interesting links I've been collecting:
- Get a free USB drive from Microsoft! Click the link and then click "Valuable Information" on the right. It comes preloaded, but I'm sure you can erase the data.
- Great article on using toothpaste to repair scratched CDs. I shall give this a try.
- Spielberg himself says that he is working on Indiana Jones 4. Harrison Ford may be getting a little old, but I am thrilled about this development.
- Serenity DVD sales finally put it into the black. Hopefully this means there will be a sequel or TV special or something!
- Lego re-enactments of famous video games. I love the Metal Gear shots. Good memories.
- If you didn't read this article by Flemming Rose, editor of the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, about why he published the infamous Muhammed cartoons you should definitely do so. Very good explanation.
- If you want more on this topic, the Boston Globe wrote a great editorial: "We are all Danes now."
- Holy cow ... 900+ Web 2.0 applications all categorized for our convenience. I shall spend some time perusing this, most definitely.
- Great list of how some famous companies got their names. For example, ever wonder how eBay.com got its name? Now you'll know.
- Everyone has linked to this, so why shouldn't I? Zillow.com gives you an estimate on not only how much your home is worth, but also your neighbors' homes.
- Funny! Hoth2014.com, the planet Hoth's bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. Watch out for the Wampas!
- And here is a link listing out the amazing stuff people get in their Oscar "goodie bag." A years supply of olive oil?!?!? Yes!
- This has some potential: http://lib.rario.us/. Catalog your books and media files on this site, and I suppose find out about what other potential media you may like based on lists similar to your own. But I can't find a search function (?).
- Cool! "The Black Hole Flight Simulator" is a 23 minute video, narrated by Liam Neeson, that took "90 hours of supercomputer calculation for each on-screen second." I hope this comes to the Science Museum of Minnesota.
That's all for now.

- The Weblog Awards 2005. Some good sites are listed here in all sorts of categories. Find a new blog to read, or see where your favorite blog is ranked. Sadly, the Greet Machine is nowhere to be found. This site is probably too big of a deal for these measly awards...

Stuff and Links of the day
Hey everyone. Sorry for my lack of posts, but I have just been swamped with work and life in general. This UThink upgrade has been a little more painful than I would have liked, but hopefully with time the pain will go away. Here are some random thoughts that I've had recently:
- Go Pack Go! I have never been a bigger fan of the Green Bay Packers than I am right now!
- Zygi Wilf is my new hero. If he can get even one stadium built in this state I will name my next child, boy or girl, "Zymunt" in honor of him.
- Luis Castillo, huh? I like it. Better than Rivas, Boone, Castro, and Punto put together.
- As you might have seen, the Strib is again reporting that Hennepin County is going through with an environmental study for a new Twins stadium. I don't get this one at all. Either Hennepin County thinks a special session will be called, or they are preparing to negotiate with the Twins again for another run at the legislature next session. Whatever the case, I suppose we can take this as good news. I love the quote at the end of the article above: "The stadium's proponents, Bicking said, are pushing to start the environmental review because they are "smelling that they're closer to success." [He added] "I think they're right, unfortunately."
What? You've got to be kidding. Obviously this is a battle of the pessimists, but we are nowhere near "close to success." Not from where I'm sitting.
- Watership Down is one of the best books I have ever read. Exciting, thought provoking, and all about a Greet Machine favorite topic: rabbits. I love those furry little beasts! I may write more about this later, but Watership Down is well worth a read if you haven't read it already. Wow...
- I'm going to watch March of the Penguins tonight. I'll let you know how it is. I have not seen Harry Potter or Walk the Line yet. So, I obviously can't tell you how those are.
And to top it off, here are some "Links of the Day" for your enjoyment. See you later!
- 18 Tricks to teach your body from Men's Health. I like number 17. I'm going to have to try that one.
- From freealonzo, probably one of the strangest flash animations I've ever seen: Bono leading a few other famous people in a rendition of "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes." Very strange, yet riveting!
- This one is making the rounds, "Cool Google Maps." Really interesting applications made with the Google Maps API. I like the "toEat" map. Very slick.
- "CouponCabin," a great site of online coupons and discount codes for your online shopping. I'll be back to this one, I'm sure.
- I think I've linked to this before, but it is worth another link: Science toys you can make at home with your kids with simple household items.
- Check out this cool instrument that sorts by color. It's first application, it seems, is to sort M&Ms.

- Amazing list of utitlities and web sites that seemingly covers all that you might want to do through the internet.
- Very cool flash page, but if someone would be so kind as to tell me what the point is I would greatly apprecaite it.
- Now this is cool. Top 1000 books based on holdings in libraries worldwide. #1 is no surprise, but #3? #15? Interesting...
- And speaking of books, I recently linked to Time magazines top 100 books of the 20th century. This creative post quotes actual Amazon reviews that gave some of these books 1 star or less. Funny, funny stuff. Read the review for Grapes of Wrath, one of my favorite books of all time. I just about fell over.
- Cool, cool, cool. "13 things that don't make sense." Mini-essays on dark matter, cold fusion, dark energy, the horizon problem, etc. Concise and very interesting.
- This is kind of neat: "Greatest Internet Moments, by Me." One person's picks for the best of the internet.
- FactBites.com. A new search engine that "offers you real, meaningful sentences that are right on topic." Kind of slick actually.
- The Phantom Time Hypothesis: Is it actually the year 1708? Did the Middle Ages never happen?
- It seems the Vatican has come out with a rejection of Intelligent Design: "the real message in Genesis was that 'the universe didn't make itself and had a creator'". That's it. I happen to agree.
- This is frightening and disgusting. Do Senators and Congressmen abuse their positions by practicing insider trading? I think the facts speak for themselves.

Links of the day
Beacuse of my two day silence I feel like I owe you, my loyal reader, something more today. It is because I love you! On with the Links of the Day!
- In 2004 The Onion mocked razor companies like Gillette for the number of blades on their razors and the competition surrounding that number. In this article, Gillette angrily announces their intentions to come out with 5 blades!
- Almost 2 years later, The Onion's prediciton turns out to be true. Gillette announces a 5 blade razor with two (2!) lubricating strips! When will the madness end?
- How to rip DVDs on your computer with further advice on how to shrink your DVD and burn it back on to a 4.7 GB DVD. Copyright concerns, anyone?
- A silly little song about llamas. Perfect for a Friday afternoon. Crank it!
- Check out this speed test for your internet connection.
- Here is a handy Firefox extension for screen captures called ScreenGrab. This will help me immensly.
- OK, this is too cool. The new controller for the Nintendo Revolution is actually quite revolutionary. Who would have thunk? Nintendo's last gasp, or will this take the world by storm?
- Dr. Grammar's frequently asked questions. Helpful. Alot or A lot? Which or that? Good or well? Now you'll know.
- How to vanish in America without a trace. Just for future reference, if I ever need to disappear I'm going to New Zealand where I will take the surname "Jorgenson." In case you need to find me ...
- Free public record search engine called PRetrieve. Put your name in and see what it can find. Try the advanced search to put in a zip code.
- OK, I'm impressed. Someone has invented a kind of "super water" that kills single cell organisms, speeds healing of burns, wounds and diabetic ulcers, but is harmless to humans. Very interesting.
- Google maps combined with census data. Very handy, I suppose, if I had any use for this data (which I don't).
- Animal Reviews! Check out this site to see how your favorite animals stack up. Not many reviews yet, but a cat gets a 7.6 and a rabbit gets a 2.1 (out of 10). Humorous.
- Considering joining the Church of Scientology? Take a look at the mythology around this "Xenu" character. Very enlightening, to say the least ...
That's it. Have a great weekend everyone...

- Great list of Blog/RSS search engines. I've been looking for an alternative to the always slow Technorati.
- Maybe the best alternative is Ice Rocket. Fast!

- Holy cow, this is kind of slick. A web based RSS reader that compiles all the news from various news sites in one place. Me likey...
- Troubling list of what it means to be poor. Thought provoking...
- Wow. Some dinosaurs may have been covered with feathers. I don't know, this kind of ruins it for me. I prefer them to be scaley and scary rather than big and fluffy.
- This is too freakin' weird!!! Follow the instructions on this page and let me know what happens. It certainly got me.
- Build your own online Lego design and then buy your custom set from Lego. Slick!
- Feedster's ranking of the top 500 blogs based on feed subscriptions and links. Endgadget? Who would have thought...
- I have not had a chance to read this yet, but Malcolm Gladwell (Blink, The Tipping Point) has written an article about what is wrong with our health care system. Should be interesting.
- Has the war in Iraq been successful? Christopher Hitchens thinks so...
- The perfect album? Plastic.com picks OK Computer by Radiohead. Good album, but I wouldn't call it "perfect." "Fitter Happier" is a horrible song...
That's all I got time for. See you soon.

Well, I'm trying to finish up changing the Voter's Guide to show who won. I'll also be using the Guide to track our fine legislators throughout the upcoming legislative session and future sessions. That way when the Twins and Vikings both leave, we'll know who we can focus all our anger on. I guess I'm feeling a little pessimistic. Until I'm done with the new guide, please enjoy these links of the day:
- [UPDATE] Take a look at this article from the student newspaper The Wake: "Letting go of the Left" -- Very, very thought provoking. I can't say I agree with it, but it is worth a read.
- Interesting article on why the Democrats keep losing to "this idiot." Boldly states that Edwards should run in 2008.
- Our own "coffee grounds" says that this election was a good one for Kerry to lose as he would have had a pretty hard time getting anything done with a Republican controlled House and Senate. Also says Edwards will not represent his party in 2008. Excellent, excellent post election analysis.
- Excellent re-post from Waxy.org concerning the need for reason, common ground, and a deep breath.
- Mario quilt. Really, really coooo-al.
- Incredible list of "Incredibles" merchandise. Cha-ching!
- Take the "Jeff Jarvis Post Election pledge."
- Blogcatalog, a new blog directory.
- As much as I think Kos is a "splittle-flecked" wacko, he's right. The Republicans did a great job of taking gays and abortion and combining these issues into "values." It may have had a big part in winning the election.
- Lots of good post-election blogging out there. Go figure. "Turn down the hate." Good advice.
What kills me about this election (besides Kerry losing), is that I am now 0-4 in electing a President. As a college student I voted for Perot (I know, what an idiot!), then I voted for Dole (still finding my way), four years ago I voted for Gore (he did win the popular vote, so I got that going for me), and now I voted for Kerry. At least Minnesota is blue.

Donald Watkins Part II and some links
Did anyone catch the news about Denny Hecker and Reggie Fowler today? No? That's because there isn't any. If you've forgotten, about two months ago it became well known that Reggie Fowler, an Arizona businessman, was interested in purchasing the Vikings. In order to assuage the fears of Minnesota Viking fans he partnered with Denny Hecker, a local car salesman, and said that the two of them would have a proposal for purchasing the team "soon." Well, today the Star Tribune reported:
Two months after publicly revealing his interest in joining an ownership group to purchase the Vikings, local businessman Denny Hecker continues to mull his options. He acknowledged Wednesday that there has been no significant movement in broaching the issue with owner Red McCombs, but Hecker added, "We're still working on it behind the scenes."
McCombs is seeking in excess of $600 million for the team, a price Hecker and Arizona entrepreneur Reggie Fowler do not appear ready to meet.
Does this mean that they don't have the money, or that they have the money but are unwilling to pay $600 million? I'm beginning to think they don't have the money. Forbes recently valued the Vikings franchise at $600 million. Red McCombs will not lower his price. Unfortunately it seems that in Reggie Fowler and Denny Hecker we have another Donald Watkins on our hands. They are all talk, and it looks like they may never make an offer to buy the team. Without some Minnesota ownership, the Vikings have absolutely zero chance of securing stadium funding from the legislature. Even with a Minnesota owner it will be difficult. I'm not saying Fowler and Hecker are the answer, but I definitely know Red McCombs is not.
I'll be visiting my best buddy Curt this weekend. I'll "talk" with all of you next week. In the meantime, here are some links for you to enjoy:

- There are a lot of plans to give America energy independence. Personally, I feel along with health care issues, alternative sources of fuel and retooling the car should be two of our government's highest priorities.
- A detailed review by someone who has seen "The Last Starfighter: the Musical." This is so cool! I wish I could go! Check out this quote:
It is difficult to describe the feelings as one sits through this production. For vital minutes at the beginning of the show, your mind reels, over and over: "I am watching a musical production of The Last Starfighter. I am watching a musical production of The Last Starfighter". This said, however, I found my half-smirk and wide eyes quickly overcome with the poignant, powerful song sung by Zur to his estranged parent, "Father to Son". It speaks of his rightful place, his hereditary throne denied him, his pain at being left in the cold and lost without meaning, which is why he now intends to destroy the very world he was rejected from. It is strong. It is touching. It is, at the end, a very real song delivered by a very real performer.
Awesome! You can't make that kind of stuff up! As many of you probably know, I recently purchased The Last Starfighter on DVD. My kids and I watched it last weekend and I must say it hasn't lost any of its magic. Greetings Starfighter! You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the frontier against Zur and the Kodan Armada...

- Yanks baffled by Santana
Interesting quotes
Posada on Hunter's throw to nail him at the plate:
"That's why he's got a Gold Glove," Posada said. "We tried to get on a little run there, make him be accurate. There's not much you can do."
A-Rod on Hunter's defense:
"Torii saved two runs for them," Rodriguez said. "The throw home and the leadoff double -- or whatever that would have been -- in the eighth. Pitching and defense usually wins, so you just tip your cap. We played a good, sound game. We didn't beat ourselves."
That is true, the Twins just plain beat you.
- Closer Look from CNNSI.com
Interesting quotesOn El Duque making a start:
"The news on Orlando Hernandez wasn't good for the Yankees. Joe Torre said El Duque didn't have a bullpen session Tuesday and is a 'fingers-crossed proposition' to make a start in the Division Series."
People, we just saw the only "ace" the Yankees will throw at us in Mussina.
On the Twins chances:
"Truth be told, Minnesota toed the line between victory and disaster all night. If any of those double-play ground balls had found a hole, if Sierra's fly ball had not been ruled foul, if Torii Hunter hadn't made two sensational plays in center field -- throwing out Jorge Posada on a sac fly and robbing Alex Rodriguez of a home run -- the Yankees easily could have erupted for one of their trademark big innings. Brad Radke and Carlos Silva, the Twins' starters for the next two games, might not prove nearly as evasive."
Hmmm ... very interesting. No comment. We'll see what happens in game 2.
- Twins all about team from ESPN.com
Interesting quote
"Perhaps best of the all, Santana only threw 93 pitches, leaving Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire with the option of bringing him back Saturday in Game 4 at the Metrodome.
'I think he's going to pitch the fourth game,' Twins catcher Henry Blanco said. 'That's why they got him out after seven -- to give him a little breather. I think he's going to be fine.' "
I don't think there is any question he will pitch game 4 if necessary. Wow. I like the sound of that.
- Cudd-iary: ALDS Game 1
Interesting quote"Compared to last year being up, 1-0, just remembering what happened last year will help us out a lot. Knowing we were feeling good about ourselves last year and they came and took it to us the next three games. We've got that feeling. We'll go out Wednesday with the same intensity level and try to take [it] to them."
Good to hear, Cuddyer.
- Nothing Is Easy for Yanks, and This Series Won't Be Either
Interesting quotes"'This game is over with,'' Jeter said. 'You have to have the approach that every game you play is the last game of the season. If you have that, it doesn't matter if you're up or down.''
Jeter might want to be careful about mentioning the potential last game of the season because that could arrive much faster than the Yankees expected."
Indeed.
On the Yankees hopes to score early:
"Jeter said the Yankees had hoped to score early off Santana, but that fizzled in dramatic fashion in the first two innings. Rodriguez was nabbed by about 20 feet breaking for third as Bernie Williams struck out on a hit-and-run play to end the first inning, and center fielder Torii Hunter nailed Jorge Posada at the plate as he tagged up on a fly ball to end the second."
Sheffield on the Yankees performance:
"'We don't have anything to hang our heads about,'' Sheffield said. 'We hit the ball hard. They made the plays behind him. That's baseball.'
The Yankees kept reiterating how they hit the ball hard, as if the mere recounting of the grounders that turned into double plays and the shots to the warning track that became outs would suddenly change them into hits. But nothing was changing about how the Yankees looked on a lost night."
Yep, that just isn't going to cut it against the Twins, Sheffield.
- Series Page: Minnesota vs. New York. Everyone at CBS Sportsline is picking the Yankees for game two. Here is hoping Radke proves them wrong.
- Escaping From New York. If you haven't read Will Young's experience at Yankee stadium last night, you are missing out. It is a very enjoyable read. I'm hoping he gets the chance to elaborate more when he gets home.

- "Innocent religion is now a message of hate," by Abdel Rahman al-Rashed, general manager of Al-Arabiya news channel.
- "An independent Chechnya is, notwithstanding the accounts in our media, not the object of this exercise. It is instead to detach Chechnya from the Russian, 'Christian', Dar al-Harb, and attach it instead to the Dar al-Islam -- to recover it for Islamdom." Interesting.
- Chechnya: What drives the separatists to commit such terrible outrages? "Russia's terrorism problem is not international Islam. It's a war that Russia started and has continued. Not much to say today. The Vikings game was a little boring yesterday, although I think the Seattle offense took it to the Viking defense a little bit. I don't think Tice or any of the Vikings really cared though. Bring on the regular season.
The Twins are looking good. Especially Brad Radke. Shutting out the Texas Rangers is no small feat. And Craig, correct me if I'm wrong, but if one extrapolated Morneau's numbers to a full season he would have 50 home runs and 130 RBIs. That is something special.
Gopher game tomorrow and I am excited about it. Should be a good year for the Golden Gophers. Actually, it should be a couple of good years. Mason is already saying, "If you think we'll be good this year, wait until next year!" Hopefully they can make some waves this year. It would really help their stadium drive.
Lots of talk about potential Viking owners in the Star Trib today. I'm a little nervous about Waitt. He is rumored to be a Vikings fan, but if the Chargers left San Diego would Waitt consider moving them? Perish the thought.
And lastly, the Packers first team offense is touted to be pretty good this year, yet they have only scored one (1) touchdown in three pre-season games. Their defense is also getting thrown at a lot without Mike McKenzie. Oh yes, the fury of the Norsemen will be upon them. They will be like Irish monks defending themselves with pitchforks whilst the Vikings pillage their home land. Yes, Nov. 14 will be a good day.
- Andrew Sullivan did not like Zell Miller's speech at all. I must say I thought it was a little harsh myself.
- Ruff, ruff, ruff! From Cheesehead Craig.

- This picture is making the rounds.

The most obvious question is what the heck is Omega-3? But it quickly dawned on me that it doesn't matter. It just sounds cool, and if it sounds cool it will sell more tuna. The principal is so simple: think of a cool word and stick a number behind it. So, I'm going to create a new tuna that has more "Octavious-150" than any other can of tuna. Little will anyone know that Octavious-150 is actually my code for "tuna fish." Who is with me?

With it you can search for thousands of classical music pieces performed by orchestras and symphonies around the world, listen to those pieces, and even download them. Wow. I was just listening to Handel's Water Music and the sound quality is pretty good. You can even create playlists on the site to save your favorite works and easily retrieve them for later use. Unfortunately this link will only be good for residents of Hennepin County in Minnesota with a HC Library card. Anyway, I'll be mentioning this as a possible purchase for the U Libraries. I think the Music Library could make some good use of a database like this.

That's it! I'm officially going nuts. I teach a class at the College of St. Catherine's and I've been either grading student websites or final exams for the past 4 days straight. Every spare moment I have is spent grading someone else's work, and I just plain can't take it anymore. So, invariably I will let my mind wander and my fingers will somehow start web surfing. So, here are some interesting links I've found as I try to focus on these stupid final exams! Actually, they are very good. I'd like to think it is because I am such a great teacher, but I know it is probably because they are all great students.

Over on my other site I had a running post category I called "Links of the day." I started it so that I wouldn't forget the links to interesting web sites I find throughout my day of surfing.
Anyway, today's "Links of the day" will focus on April Fools Day. You see, I was the butt of an April Fools joke yesterday. My neighbor Craig decided it would be great fun to fool me into thinking that the new U of M blog site, a site I've been working on for months, was intermittently showing up with green text. That alone was enough to send me into a frantic fury of checking over my HTML and CSS to make sure their wasn't any green hexadecimal codes that got in there by accident. But Craig wasn't finished. He also emailed all my co-workers to get them in on the act, including my boss! Fortunately, one of my co-workers decided to let me off the hook or else I would have been a weeping mess by the end of the day. Craig, I don't know how, but you are going down. You have crossed the line, and you are going down.
