Prof. Joyce Bell (PhD 2007; Sociology, University of Pittsburgh) was awarded a National TRIO Achiever's Award by the Council for Opportunity in Education. TRIO is a set of federally-funded college opportunity programs that support disadvantaged students for college degrees. Prof. Joyce previously received the 2008 Minnesota TRIO Achiever Award.
