Prof. Paula Fomby (Sociology, University of Colorado-Denver) presents "Family Instability in Adolescence and the College Experience," Fri. April 13, 12:15-1:30 pm, MPC Conference Room, 50 Willey Hall. Co-sponsored by Life Course Center.
Prof. Fomby (PhD, University of Wisconsin-Madison) studies Family; Immigrants and Immigration; Poverty; Public Policy; Data Analysis; Statistics; and Child Behavior. She primarily researches the association between family organization and child well-being in the United States and how repeated changes in family structure influence children's behavior and their adjustment to school. Dr. Fomby teaches quantitative analysis, social inequality, and population change. She has published in national journals such as: Journal of Marriage and Family; Social Science Research; American Sociological Review; and Child Indicators Research.
