CINETS - Call for Papers

CINETS issues a Call for Papers for annual Crimmigration Conference, University of Maryland, College Park, Oct. 6-7, 2016. Themes: Federalisms and sovereignties; Technologies and control; Borders, enforcement and detention; and Trafficking and forced migration.
Formats:
1. Oral - 15 minutes
2. Paper - Considered for possible publication for the 3rd CINETS book (30 pp max, A4 Word format, Calibri, size 11 font, line spacing 1.5 lines and 1 inch (3 cm) margins).
3. Combined - 1 & 2, or some combination with 4.
Abstracts: 500 word maximum, and include Topic Area and whether a presentation).
Abstracts must be submitted and must include author(s), professional/academic
affiliation, and email. Email abstracts.

IAS - Call for Proposals

The Humanities Without Walls Consortium invites proposals from cross-institutional teams of faculty and graduate students for the second round of funding on topics related to "The Global Midwest." Applications must be from research teams that include at least two consortium institutions.

HRP - Undergraduate Awards

The Human Rights Program issues a Call for Nominations for the Inna Meiman and Sullivan Ballou Awards for undergraduate students studying human rights. To nominate, email 750 word letter and CV. Self nominations must include a letter of recommendation.

Campus Compact - Faculty Award

Thomas Ehrlich Civically Engaged Faculty Award for senior, tenured faculty for exemplary leadership in advancing students' civic learning and higher education's contributions to the public good.

Dissemination and Implementation Awards provide funding to research teams so they can apply research to real world issues related to human health.

Bird Award - Call for Nominations

The UMN Chapter of Sigma Xi, invites nominations for the Charles and Dorothy Andrew Bird Award: Up to $2000 cash award, Sigma Xi membership fee for one year (up to 2 awards). Undergraduate or graduate student for outstanding research in the form of 1) a thesis; 2) a paper or papers accepted for presentation at a national meeting; or 3) a paper or papers accepted for peer-reviewed journal publication.
