The University of Minnesota ICON Solar House will be open for public tours on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9-13 and Oct. 15-18.

University of Minnesota alumni are invited to a special Washington, D.C. Area Alumni & Friends Reception.

Public Tours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., National Mall
Reception: 5:30 to 7 p.m., Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (Lerner Room, 3rd floor), National Mall at 7th and Independence S.W.

At the reception, student team leaders of the University of Minnesota ICON Solar House team will share inside information on the design process, contest, and unique features of the University's ICON Solar House. The house is open for tours earlier that day.

See the ICON Solar House Sept. 16-18 on the U of M St. Paul campus

Get a sneak peek at the ICON Solar House, Sept. 16-18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The house will be located at the University of Minnesota St. Paul campus on the north side of Buford Place, just east of Gortner Avenue. Visitors should park in the University's Gortner Avenue Ramp and follow the signs. (From the ramp, turn left on Gortner Avenue, walk past Buford Avenue, and turn right on Buford Place.)

Visitors will be able to view the house from the outside and learn about the solar features and building process from the students and faculty involved.
