WCCO-TV: U Places 5th in Solar Home Competition
The University of Minnesota is celebrating a fifth place finish at the Solar Decathlon.
"It's a culmination of a lot of work, everyone has done a lot of work," said Minnesota student Peter Leeman.
Students had to create a modern, livable home fully powered by the sun.
The houses are on the Capitol Mall in Washington, D.C.
This is the first year the 'U' sent a team to the competition. They competed against 20 other teams from around the country.
