Last week's final definition:
Leadership is that one can combine his or her own vision to an organization's vision, have ethics standards, and adjust different leadership styles and strategies to lead an organization based on different situation. Especially in today's environment, a great leader should be able to stabilize the current situation as well as adapt to new crisis and see the whole big picture. A good leader also should be able to incorporate diverse voices with equality as well as lead a virtual group gaining more collaboration and cooperation.

Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
This week's reading focused on a research paper of how the intentional change drives the real change and it took a close look at the complex system (Boyatzis, R. E. (2006). "An Overview of Intentional Change from a Leadership Perspective." Journal of Management Development, 25(7), 607-623. doi:10.1108/02621710610678445). However, I didn't update my leadership definition because I felt that reading deals more with the self-leading instead of leading a organization. There are some of the good points that we can use in our progress of being a better self.

Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
This weeks, Yoon reading really focus on a research that examine what phases and patterns are when virtual groups develop. They found out seven temporal group development (phasesYoon, S., & Johnson, S. (2008). Phases and patterns of group development in virtual learning teams. Educational Technology Research & Development, 56(5), 595-618. doi:10.1007/s11423-007-9078-x). I think the background part did a good job explaining uniqueness of virtual groups and the benefits of that. I think a leader should be able to lead a virtual group and I put that into my leadership definition.

Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
Today's society is a diverse society which requires the leader to be able to incorporate different voices with equality such the organization can reach a harmony and it is essential for the leader's to have a equal mind to treat everyone else without bias.(Kezar, A.
Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
This week's reading "Get on the Balcony" is very similar to last week's reading that a great leader should be able to "play the game and observe it as a whole" (Heifetz, R. A., & Linsky, M. (2002). "Get on the balcony." Leadership on the Line: Staying alive through the dangers of leading (pp. 51 - 74). Boston: Harvard Business School Press.). I agree with that and it is not only beneficial to the organization but also to the leader. By doing that, a leader can coincide his vision with the organization's vision and better perform his leadership.

Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
I like the servant leadership in this week's reading and personally I like that leadership style. The 11 characteristics are also good leadership qualities (Barbuto, J. E., & Wheeler, D. W. (2007). "Becoming a Servant Leader: Do you have what it takes?" Retrieved from www.ianrpubs.unl.edu/epublic/live/g1481/build/g1481.pdf). But I feel these are good to have, but not required, not every single leader has these. So I didn't update this week's definition.

Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
This week's article is really what I like. I think it's particularly useful for today's environment that economic has been going through ups and downs. As a leader, one should not "hunker down" but practice "adaptive leadership"( Heifetz, R., Grashow, A., & Linsky, M. (2009). "Leadership in a (permanent) crisis."
Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
After reading the text about Ethics, I feel that ethics is a critical part in everyone's life, not only applying to a leader. Even though according to the Kidder, there are some dilemmas that everyone can face when making choice (Kidder, Rushworth M. "Overview: The ethics of right vs. right." How Good People Make Tough Choices (pp. 13 - 29). New York: Simon & Schuster. 2003.). However, a good leader can always do the ethics decision and gain the best result. To be a good leader, ethics is essential.

Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
This weeks I read two articles about the leadership vision and I think that is also a important part of leadership. Leadership vision is that "one's personal vision that includes how one want to be as a leader and how the leadership will help the organization fulfill its organizational vision" ( Lee, J. & King, N. "Ground your leadership vision in a personal vision." Discovering the Leader in You: A guide to realizing your personal leadership potential pp. 31 - 54, 2001). I think a great leader is able to combine the personal vision and the organizational vision very well.

Analysis of the differences in the definitions:
After reading the Goleman's article, I learned that there are six different types of leadership and "most effective executives use a collection of distinct leadership styles" (Goleman, Daniel. "Leadership That Gets Results." Havard Business Revew 78.2 (2000): 78-90. Print.), which I think it is very important for a leader to lead. Given that perspective, I added applying different styles to the definitions of leadership.
