The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is offering a webinar on Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 11:30 am to 1 pm providing an overview of tools, policies and compliance requirements. NIH notice NOT-OD-12-160 notice emphasizes that as early as spring 2013, non-competing continuation awards may be withheld if publications related to grant awards are not in public access compliance.There are two campus locations to view the webinar:

On Jan. 9, the NIH released NOT-OD-13-020, which is information about the Public Access Compliance Monitor an institutional compliance tracking tool that is accessible through your National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) account log-in. This will help researchers check if PMCID (PubMed Central reference number) or PMIDs (PubMed reference number) are listed on their grant-related journal articles.
