NIDDK offers obesity prevention funding

The Health and Human Services National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) solicits proposals for an Obesity Policy Evaluation Research R01 project to evaluate large-scale policies or programs that influence obesity related behaviors, such as dietary intake, physical activity, or sedentary behavior in an effort to prevent or reduce obesity. Based on a 2010 Institute of Medicine report, more research is needed that offer solutions to stem morbidity and mortality from conditions related to obesity. Application deadline is June 5, 2013.
