Women's leadership program offered

The UMN Women's Leadership Institute (WLI) seeks applicants for a 10-month program that provides professional growth opportunities and a forum to network with women leaders. Up to 25 staff and faculty will be selected. There is a $100 application fee but limited scholarships are provided. Download the application and apply by June 27, 2014.

Call for abstracts

The Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS) is accepting research abstracts until March 31 for the 2014 National State of the Science Congress on Nursing Research "Optimizing Health by Addressing Complexity" conference, Sept. 18-20, 2014 at the Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington, DC. Cost to submit a proposal is $25. Call for awards deadline is April 13, 2014. See the website for details and requirements.

Call for nominations

You can nominate a colleague for two types of UMN awards. The President's Award for Outstanding Service recognizes faculty and staff who have provided exceptional service to the university. Submit your nomination by Friday, March 7. Nominations for Outstanding Community Service Awards are also being accepted. Deadline to apply is Friday, April 4, 2014.

Nominate a woman leader by March 14

The UMN Powell Center for Women's Health is accepting nominations through March 14, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. for the Mullen/Spector/Truax Women's Leadership award to recognize female faculty or staff for leadership and efforts to develop leadership within others. Learn more.

The UMN Office for Public Engagement is accepting nominations for the 2014 Outstanding Community Service Award, which recognizes UMN faculty, staff and students who enhance their communities through service. Nominations are due April 4, 2014. Check the website for details.
