Busy Spring!

It's been a busy spring. I've been so busy enjoying the warmer weather that I haven't had a chance to update my blog!

Although my favorite place to go is the playground, I also enjoy driving my car around:

When it rains, I find fun stuff to do around the house:

I love riding my tiger (YEE HAW!):

I enjoy visiting friends. My friend, "Seresa," is showing me how to play the piano:

Here I am visiting "Seresa's" cat, Leo:

I take time to rest:

And I even help Grandma and Grandpa with yard work:

The two biggest events of the spring happened this month. Dad graduated from The Carlson School. YAY DAD:

And last but not least, I moved from a crib to a big kid bed! YAY ME:

It's Potty Time!

Mom was very excited the other day when I used the potty for the first time. She clapped and sang, but my favorite part is when she gave me a sticker. Here I am showing off my potty after using it (notice my Blues Clues sticker):

Yay me!

Out and About

Even though it's been a pretty chilly spring, we've still managed to get out and about a little bit. A few weeks ago, we went to the zoo to see the baby farm animals...

Meeting some goats:

And eating some lunch:

Last month, we visisted the Veterans Transition Center to attend their grand opening party. Here I am hanging out at the root beer keg:

Mmmm...root beer.

Around the House

It's been awhile since I last updated my blog! Here are some photos showing what I've been up to over the past couple of months.

Here I am, ready to go out in the snow:

A BIG snowball (actually, Dad was helping me build a snowman):

Since winter has lasted a little long, I've been staying inside the apartment a lot. Here I am sitting on a chair:

Check out my cowgirl hat - yee haw:

I love it when Mom and Dad get boxes in the mail:

Family in Florida

Last week, my great great uncle passed away. He lived in Florida. He was 98 years old! That's even older than Mom and Dad! I flew down to Florida to attend the funeral with Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa. It was sad to have to go for a funeral, but I enjoyed visiting family and going to the beach. Here are some pictures from our trip!

We paid our respects to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa:

Here I am playing with a pail of water by the beach. It was fun to put seaweed and sand into the water and stir it around like soup:

Here I am in my swimsuit:

Grandma helps me put sand in my pail:

Dad brought me into the ocean for the first time! Although you can't tell from this photo, I really LOVED going into the ocean! It was so much fun! I almost tried to swim away from Dad, but he kept a good grasp on me. I enjoyed the water and the waves:

It was fun to squish my toes in the wet sand:

Here comes a wave (yay):

Grandpa holds my hand as I stand where the waves were rolling in - it was a fun time:

Enjoying the Warmer Weather

Last week, it was "warm" for a few days. Temperatures rose into the twenties! FINALLY, Mom and Dad let me play outside a few times. When I want to go outside, I will find my boots and bring them to Mom or Dad. They usually get the hint when I start saying things like, "boots on," "coat," and "outside, outside!" I love snow.

I know it's a little tougher to ride around on my scooty-puff, but I don't care.

It's extra fun to ride around on the ice!

I've also figured out that snow tastes pretty neato. Mom makes sure that I don't end up with any dirty snow. Even if it is cold, I sure do enjoy it!

As you can tell, I'm a Minnesota girl - making the most of winter!

January Fun: The Museum & Football!

January was a fun month! Before Mom and Dad returned to school, we all visited the Children's Museum of Minnesota. I knew it would be fun because as we drove up to the parking garage, I saw a giant poster of Elmo on the side of the museum. Yay! Here are some photos from our visit to the Children's Museum...

I loved pressing the knob to hear the owl sound (wooooo!):

Meeting Mr. Skunk:

January was a big football month! Mom bought me a football at Target. Dad's been teaching me how to catch and throw. My favorite game is to dive for a fumble and tackle (or be tackled by) Dad:

Here are a couple of video clips of our living room football plays:

Holiday Travels

Sorry I'm a little late with my update here. It's been a busy time with the traveling we did over the holidays and with Mom and Dad returning to school. Here are some photos from our holiday trip to the East coast!

First, we visited friends in Northern Virginia. Here I am with Mom and Mom's friend, L:

We visited another one of Mom's friends where I met Bean the doggie. I liked Bean and Bean seemed to like me!

After Northern Virginia, we visited Mom's relatives in New Jersey. Mom forgot to take pictures while we were there (oops). She pulled out the camera again after we arrived in Virginia Beach. Grandpa Spencer and Nana rented a nice, big house near the beach! It was fun! All sorts of family and friends came to visit.

Here I am with Dad in the late afternoon, after we arrived at the house near the beach:

Dad and Mom took me to the beach a few times. At first, I was scared of the ocean, but by the time we left, I was trying to RUN into the ocean. Dad always caught me before I could that! Maybe next year...

We celebrated New Years Eve:

I enjoyed acting silly for Grandpa and Nana:

Nana made yummy food for all of us. I even tried eating spaghetti like everyone else (twirling it around my fork):

I had a lot of fun with my cousin, K. She's about 15 months older than me. We enjoyed dancing and falling when anyone would sing, "Ring Around the Rosies."

Grandpa reading a story to me:

Acting silly with Nana and my cousin:

One really fun adventure was a visit to the Virginia Aquarium! Dad, Mom, and I saw fish, otters, crabs, jellyfish, and even an owl! Here I am touching a crab:

I enjoyed playing in the pretend underwater sub area. Yay for buttons and lights!

Oooo...a sea turtle:

Oops, it looks like a shark gobbled me up!

Hee hee hee. It was a fun trip and I enjoyed visiting all of my parents' family and friends! Happy New Year everyone!

Happy Holidays!

So far this holiday season has been a lot of fun! Last week, I received a babydoll with a crib from my friend, Mary. It's pretty great that my babydoll has a place to sleep - yay:

Over the weekend, we visited some friends. I met a girl, H, who is almost my age! Here I am with H, sitting on Dad's lap:

On Christmas Eve, we got together with Dad's relatives in Minnesota. That was LOTS of fun! I got to see Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma, and even some of Dad's cousins!

One of Dad's cousins is K. I've met him before. He's a pretty funny guy. Here we are holding our noses at the same time and being silly:

Another one of Dad's cousins is L. She's a good hockey player and a lot of fun too. She made me smile and giggle even though she was tired. I was glad to see her because she had surgery just a few days ago and we were afraid she wouldn't make it! I was happy that she was feeling better. Here she is laughing at me as I make a funny face:

Here I am sitting with Grandma. We matched with our red shirts:

In addition to eating yummy food with Dad's family, I got a lot of presents! My favorite present turned out to be one that was sent from Nana and Grandpa C in North Carolina. They sent me a ClickStart keyboard/computer! Here is Grandpa L showing me the package:

Here I am telling Grandpa L that I want it out of the box NOW:

I'm helping Grandpa L take the keyboard out of the box:

I realized that I could not use the keyboard without a TV. There was no TV around, so I decided to wait on using the keyboard until we got home. In lieu of my new keyboard, Dad brought me one of my other new toys to play with - a stuffed horse. That was pretty neat too:

And here I am helping Grandpa L open one last gift - a "My Little Pony."

I've had lots of fun so far, but the holidays aren't over yet! This week, we're flying to Washington, D.C. to visit some friends in Virginia. Later this week, we are going to visit Mom's relatives in New Jersey and then drive down to North Carolina to see Nana and Grandpa C! We're going to spend a whole week with Nana and Grandpa C and I'll even get to see my cousin, K, who is almost two years older than me. It should be an exciting time! I will share pictures when I get home.

Have a very happy holiday and a happy new year! See you in 2008!!!

I love books!

The other day, the neighbors gave me a great Hanukkah gift - the book, "Blueberries for Sal." Here I am reading my new book:

reading2.jpg

I like books a lot. I really enjoy dumping out my basket of books and sitting down with them, flipping through all the pages. I suppose I can't technically read yet, but I can recognize some of the letters! Sometimes I like to say the letters as I see them. My favorites are M, O, A, U, F, C, S, and I. I also like telling Mom and Dad what I see in the pictures. I think my favorite book right now is "Go, Dog, Go!" Sometimes I will run and get that book and bring it to Mom, saying the title, "Go, dog, go!" Then she knows that I want the book read to me. I can't wait until I learn more letters and words so that I can read books all by myself!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Over the past couple of weeks, about a foot of snow has piled up outside our door!

I don't know why Mom and Dad let it pile up like that, but it's been pretty interesting. At first, I didn't like the snow because I discovered I could not ride my scooty-puff-junior through the snow very well:

I tried playing in the snow, but it was too hard to move in my puffy snowsuit:

Just when I thought winter was going to be horrible because of all the snow, Dad put me in my new sled and pulled me around! That was pretty neato:

I liked scooping up the snow with my mitten as Dad pulled the sled:

Until my mitten accidentally came off:

And Dad had to try to put it back on before my hand froze. BRRRR...that was cold:

I guess this snow thing isn't that bad since even though I hate my snowsuit, I do like my sled. I'm still looking forward to spring, however, when I can ride in my wagon and my scooty-puff-junior again!

Say Cheese

amybw.jpg

Last month, Mom and Dad brought me to Grandma and Grandpa's to have family portraits taken. At first, I thought we were just going to play in the yard, but then this lady showed up with a nifty camera. (Oh how badly I wanted to touch the camera and those neato lenses!) She followed me around and took all sorts of pictures. I wasn't too happy to sit for pictures though. It was a such a nice day! I just wanted to run around, swing on my swing, pick-up leaves, and find rocks! I even found a baseball as I was wondering around the yard! Although I was grumpy for some of them, Mom thinks the portraits turned out great. You can see some of the best of the bunch in a slideshow put together by the photographer here:

http://www.mccauleyphoto.com/slideshows/Simer/

I think my favorite photo is the one where I am smelling the flower. Every time Mom sees that photo, she smiles and laughs. I think it's funny too.

The Spaghetti Incident

I enjoy eating spaghetti, but for some reason every time I have it, Mom feels the need to take off my clothes! She doesn't take off HER clothes when SHE eats spaghetti! What's the deal here? I think I am a FINE eater. See for yourself:

spaghettiincident.jpg

Oh well. At least the spaghetti tastes yummy so I suppose it's worth it.

A Spider's Visit to Zoo Boo

This evening, I was one of my favorite animals - a spider! I like spiders a lot. Whenever I see one on the wall or crawling on the ground, I point it out to Mom and Dad and say, "hiss, hiss." Sometimes, I even try to pick them up, but Mom and Dad don't like me to do that very often.

Mom and Dad decided to take me to ZOO BOO at Como Zoo this evening so that I could show off my great spider costume. I saw TONS of people and animals and creatures. There were bears and dragons and princesses and fairies and ladybugs and ducks and werewolves and transformers - all sorts of things! I even met a grown-up spider who was handing out snacks! That was the other neat thing about ZOO BOO - they gave us a bag and people handed us snacks and stickers along the way! It was really fun!

Here are some photos from Zoo Boo...

On our way to Zoo Boo, I had some milk (Mom and Dad walked to Zoo Boo from the apartment; I rode in my stroller):

I hid behind a tree from Mom:

I'm looking up to see which way Dad wants me to go:

We escaped the crowd for a little bit so that I could walk through the leaves with Dad:

I like the way leaves go CRUNCH when you step on them:

I'm waiting for the "Man with the Yellow Hat" to walk through a door while a Werewolf watches me:

Dad tries to encourage me to walk through the doorway. I wasn't so sure:

Sometimes the crowd could seem pretty overwhelming for a little spider:

I thought Dad would like to go get some fresh air:

Dad leads me back to where the excitement is happening:

On our way out, I spotted one of my other favorite animals, an owl!!! Hoo, hoo!

Happy Halloween, everyone!
