Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality

Our group boarded the tour van and drove to the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality for a welcome and talk by Dr. Peter Braam, the Assistant Chief Veterinary Officer.

After the talk, Jan Lambers, a Policy Officer with the Ministry, joined us for our journey to Rotterdam. There we met with Dr. Jack Vera, the Chief of the Import Division of the Food and Goods Authority Implementation Service who talked about the process for checking and approving imported goods.

The next stop on our journey was the Regulations Directorate in Deventer. We learned about the country’s system for identification and registration of cattle, pigs and sheep from Kees van Laar and Mark Gooskens.
