Teen Dieting

Dianne Neumark-SztainerA new study has found that dieting during teen years can lead to long-term health problems. Dianne Neumark-Sztainer, a University of Minnesota epidemiologist, who conducted the five-year study, says that dieting teens were three times more likely to be overweight after five years than their peers who didn’t diet.

This is a rather interesting study, or rather interesting results. Usually diets that are taken up over a short period of time are the ones that end up being the "failures", the dieter lost weight quickly but did not maintain the weight. Diets that are more moderate and are followed overtime seem to be more natural and permanent. It'll be interesting to listen to the audio for further info on this.
