Summer Food Safety
Summer is here--a season when many of us cherish the time we spend at family picnics or at the backyard BBQ grill. But it's also a time to take special care in how we handle and cook food, says Craig Hedberg, a food-safety expert at the University of Minnesota.
More than 200,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year and 27,000 will die. Yet there is no clear evidence that being screened for prostate cancer is beneficial, says Tim Church, a University of Minnesota expert on cancer screenings. 
About 40,000 Americans die each year from injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents. As the summer vacation season begins, families should be mindful of the importance of seat belts as well as the benefits, and potential dangers, of air bags, says Toben Nelson, a University of Minnesota epidemiologist.
