Prostate Cancer Screening
More than 200,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year and 27,000 will die. Yet there is no clear evidence that being screened for prostate cancer is beneficial, says Tim Church, a University of Minnesota expert on cancer screenings.

You don't think that being screened is beneficial? I just read an article at http://cw11.empowereddoctor.com/story_1005.html which talks about how a new technique is increasing the chance of catching this type of cancer. What are your thoughts on this?
The scientific research so far has been unable to establish that screening for prostate cancer leads to lower death rates or less morbidity. Currently, large, randomized trials are assessing these questions and will be able to answer them in 2 to 5 years. Meanwhile, consult with your doctor about your concerns.
