Not surprising at all. Restrictions were placed durin the BSE craze - and never lifted - due to travel/living overseas. Being outside of the country for a total of 6 months disqualifies you. With the ever-increasing number of people moving in-and-out of the country working for global companies, we are gradually eliminating our own resources. With over-seas travel being more accessible, the same applies. I have been donating blood for over 10 years. As of July, I can't donate in the US anymore - but the next time I'm back in Europe, I can stop by and donate there. I can't even help my own country, but I can help someone else's??
