2007 Summer International Experiences - Air quality research in Vietnam

How is everybody’s summer going?

Hope you are doing whatever you want this summer. So many things were going on around me for International Field Experience. Why don’t you hear my adventurous story?

Ha Long Bay-There were unique boats in peaceful ocean.

Ha Long Bay-Many different shapes of islands on my way to go to the rural area.

I was in Vietnam doing research to evaluate the air quality with NIAPP- National Institute of Agricultural Planning and Projection which was my host organization. I worked to collect the data for air sampling both in rural area and in downtown Ha Noi city and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). The reason why I went to Vietnam is that it is timely for the Vietnamese government to build an environmental policy right after joining the WTO in Jan. 2007. The Vietnamese government is pursuing the topic of environmental policy, especially related to the air quality which is my field of study.
