SPH at the State Fair

Health Policy
Hello, my name is Melissa Lo. I am a second year Masters student in the Health Services Research, Policy, and Administration program. Because it requires a deep breath to say it, using the abbreviation HSRPA is acceptable.*
You might not have heard of us - we're a relatively small program compared to, say, the behemoth that is Epidemiology - but as one of the designated SPH Student Bloggers, I hope to dispel any notion that we in HSRPA are research-focused number crunchers that other student rarely see during daylight or outside the SPHERE.
I am also the Historian for Student Senate, so you'll often find me on campus with a camera in hand. Don't worry; you'll look fabulous on film. Student Senate hosts social events and volunteering opportunities for public health students and their families throughout the year. Getting involved is a great way to meet other people and get familiar with the school. /plug
Most likely, I'll be repeating some version of these topics over the school year, so let's stop here. Below are photos of the State Fair from August 27th, at the University building, with the School of Public Health as a host. We also managed to rope in Al Franken for a vodcast!
One of the many people eager for free protective gear!

Giving me one of those judging glances.

This chicken reminded me of the Joker in the Dark Knight.

Unrequited love.

* We just pronounce it "hers-pra" which transposes the S and R, but it's much easier to pronounce.
