Lester Breslow, M.D., M.P.H., University of Minnesota School of Public Health, May 19, 2006.

Known as “Mr. Public Health,” Lester Breslow M.D., M.P.H. is a pioneer in chronic disease prevention and health behavior intervention. He has had a long and distinguished career, dedicating more than 65 years to the advancement of public health knowledge and practice. An outspoken visionary, he began promoting his ideas for healthy living decades before they became popular.

Dr. Breslow's contributions have made an indelible mark in the pages of public health history.

The School of Public Health hosted a special lecture to discuss the pursuit of health in modern times, and the implications of that pursuit on the field of public health.
