2007 Gaylord Anderson Lecture: Dr. Mervyn Susser on Joseph Goldberger & Edgar Sydenstricker: An Historic Epidemiologic Partnership

Dr. Susser is Sergievsky Professor of Epidemiology Emeritus of Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health and faculty of Medicine. He is regarded as one of the preeminent epidemiologists in the world. He spoke about the 20th Century Scientific Revolution in Epidemiology and at the McNamara Alumni Center on April 26th.

    The University of Minnesota and the University of Iceland are marking a
    quarter century of collaboration in 2007. A delegation of faculty from the
    University of Iceland representing the next generation of this important

    Speaker: Speaker: Dr. James Neaton, Ph.D., professor of biostatistics at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Dr. Neaton is also the director of INSIGHT (International Network for Strategic Initiatives in Global HIV Trials). INSIGHT represents a large collaboration of HIV/AIDS researchers in 37 countries. Their aim is to optimize the use of antiretroviral and other treatments to improve the health and prolong the lives of those infected with HIV. Hundreds of investigators and thousands of study participants have helped INSIGHT carry out the two largest HIV treatment trials done to date.
