SPH at the State Fair: How many calories in this meal?

SPH staff asked 73 fair-goers to estimate how many calories were in a meal, using rubber food props:

4 oz hamburger patty 306 calories
hamburger bun 120 calories
90 grams french fries 300 calories
16 oz. soda, no ice 200 calories
1 cup ice cream 289 calories
1215 total calories
