Matthew Spiel I am originally from Madison, WI and mainly decided to come to the U to get away from home and be with my girlfriend. I needed to expreince something for my self away from a safety net. Deciding to go to the U was the best decision I have ever made. I have made wonderful friends as well as gained a great education and the independence that everyone my age needs. I am a senior here at the U and majoring in Housing Studies. I will end up going back home to Madison when I graduate in the spring of 2007.

I am a major sports fan that loves to root for the gophers. Hopefully gopher football will be able to survive this year... I am a little worried. I can't wait until basketball and hockey seasons start. I personally love playing soccer as well as watching it. I try to catch as me games as possible on television, but unfortunately cable television does not show too many soccer games. I also enjoy pro football, and though I am in Minnesota I will always be a Packer fan.
