Three successful restaurant openings in the midst of a down economy. Could be an interesting way to look at cycling concepts. Could invite guest speaker to last class and or/cater food.
A quote from Tom Friedman NYT column 1 11 10:
"Andy Grove, co-founder of Intel, liked to say that companies come to "strategic inflection points," where the fundamentals of a business change and they either make the hard decision to invest in a down cycle and take a more promising trajectory or do nothing and wither."
An example of cycling. The AOL/Time Warner merger was a big bet around the internet. Right idea, bad execution. Not much hedging.
Wonderful innovation journey story from 10.29.09 NYT. Shock, cycling, external relationships- its all there.
