JOURNALISM 3251 ASSIGNMENT

Ken Doyle is the instructor and will require students to use Choices (Simmons) and MRI (Mediamarker) to research consumer demographics for products by General Mills. The class was given a very brief introduction in Rm S30B this week.

Students will get the assignment next week. It involves researching cereal products from General Mills (or maybe some other food products) They are working in groups.

They are also suppose to look at the annual report for General Mills and competitor information. Mergents is one of the sources he is suggesting to the class, but General Mills web page would also work. Other company sources like Hoovers.

He wants them to use Business Source Premier or LexisNexis for trade magazine articles about the products.

There is a Courselib page for this class which Prof Doyle links to from WebCT. It includes links to GMID and Mintel which could be very helpful.
