Liz and I have finished revising the Bio-Med booklet. The new, streamlined version is now available in printed format in room 274 (next to the file cabinet).
It is also available on the O drive at:
O:\biomed\PubServ\Booklet Materials\Official Copies\Guide to Services Resources 2008 revision 5
Questions or comments should be directed to Lisa or Liz
Cheers!
Hi all,
This really isn't about an assignment per se. Next Wednesday, August 20, the School of Dentistry will be having a scavenger hunt for new students. They will be coming to the library to figure out where it is and also to pick up some swag. The swag box is currently in room 274 on the low-table next to the file cabinet.
I'm hoping to keep in there until the event, but if anyone needs that table for something important let me know and I'll move the box. Or ask you to help me move it :)
thanks,
Lisa

Hi Everyone,
I attended a MNCAT Plus (Primo) orientation session this morning and learned about a really cool feature that will allow us to search for items in the reference collection. The code is slightly different, but functions the same way as the biomref keyword searching did. MNCAT Plus has the ability to search by library and collection codes and you can add keywords from there. So if you are looking for information about chemotherapy but wanted to limit it to the Bio-Med reference collection you would type: tbiom ref chemotherapy into the search box. Use the default values of all items, that contain my query words, and anywhere in the record. This search has 16 results and through the magic of FRBR other editions and EBooks are also grouped together in these results.
Let me know if you are interested in searching other collection codes for HSL and I will post a list of the library codes and their corresponding collections to the blog.
