Hi Everyone,
I attended a MNCAT Plus orientation session this morning and learned about a really cool feature that will allow us to search for items in the reference collection. The code is slightly different, but functions the same way as the biomref keyword searching did. MNCAT Plus has the ability to search by library and collection codes and you can add keywords from there. So if you are looking for information about chemotherapy but wanted to limit it to the Bio-Med reference collection you would type:
tbiom ref chemotherapy into the search box. Use the default values of all items, that contain my query words, and anywhere in the record. This search has 16 results and through the magic of FRBR other editions and EBooks are also grouped together in these results.
Let me know if you are interested in searching other collection codes for HSL and I will post a list of the library codes and their corresponding collections to the blog.

Hello,
During the Reference Training Meeting yesterday, Liz asked about whether Primo sessions time out and when. Here is the response I got from Connie Hendrick:
The current time out is set at 30 minutes. We have requested a 5 minute time out. We are currently working with ExLibris to make the time out value locally configurable. We also have expectations concerning what should happen when session inactivity reaches the time out limit.I would expect for a session where the user did not logon that the search box would be cleared and all searches from the session and records saved in the session would be cleared. I would expect for a session where the user did logon that the user would be signed out and the last search cleared from the search box.
So, there you have it. Again, I encourage all of you to take the time to try out Primo and to use the Feedback and Comments form at the bottom of the window to communicate with the development team.
Cheers,
Martha
