Goal
The goal of the SCRC is to contribute to the knowledge base on recruitment, retention, and persistence of underrepresented students in STEM in order to address the national need for a diverse STEM workforce.

Focus Areas

The SCRC will focus on four main areas to develop and test recruitment and retention activities and strategies for broadening participation.
• Secondary school outside-of-the classroom informal science education strategies and activities.


• STEM Communication to secondary and postsecondary students


• Postsecondary STEM socialization.


• Secondary teachers professional STEM development.
