Robert DeNiro Beat Me Up
Time for some dream analysis. Maybe you can help me out. Last night I dreamed that I was somehow connected to Robert DeNiro and, essentially, he got really pissed at me for some reason (you know how non-sequential and non-descript dreams can be sometimes) and he beat me. The next sequence of the dream involved my being treated by a nurse for my wounds while DeNiro stood outside the door trying to bang it down and kill me. So, the nurse took him on and beat him to the point that he had to beg for mercy. But THEN, the nurse decided to spare DeNiro's life and DATE him. Later, she morphed into my PhD advisor and got me started working on my dissertation. But by that point, she had dumped DeNiro. What could this possibly mean? Oh, have some fun, people!!!

Ok, so DeNiro is just the crap in daily life that beats you over the skull periodically to keep things exciting, right? Yeah. Then enter the "remedy" or nurse, (representing therapy, lots of alcohol/vices, girlie talks with the ladies, etc.) that looks this DeNiro guy in the face and confronts him. And not only do your issues (DeNiro) get confronted, but you actually use this "nurse" or aide to defeat, or at least rise above your DeNiro. And not all "issues" that beat you over the head are bad. I mean, you can certainly use them or your overcoming of them to your advantage in maturing and strengthening yourself.
And sometimes even though you "make nice" with your issues (nurse dates Bob), you still find yourself getting through life in spite of the issue still being there (but tamed -- like a henpecked, nurse-dating DeNiro). Sometimes you let your issues hang around and sometimes you move on without them (a la nurse dumping DeNiro). Either way, you are a new person, challenged with new things via a variety of new people and situations (i.e. nurse morphing into your advisor -- future, dude!).
Pretty impressive abstract shit for a Concrete Sequential (38) moron like me. (Remember that, Sarah??? Abele?)

You are HIRED! I have needed a personal dream analyst for a long time. I am totally amazed at your insight. How did you come up with all of this? Do you watch Dr. Phil????

Sorry, but I've never actually even seen 2 minutes of Dr.Phil. I think I have seen a commercial for him once or twice though. I just have far too much time on my hands...
