A Minnesota man was critically injured when he was hit by a car while trying to catch his dog on a busy freeway late Saturday night, the Star Tribune said.
Joshua James Davis, 33, of St. Michael, was struck when he chased his pit bull into the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 near Hudson, Wis. at about 11:30 p.m., the Pioneer Press said.
Davis was listed in critical condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul Sunday night. The dog was killed by the same car, the Pioneer Press reported.
The driver of the car, Samantha Russell, 18, and her passenger, Brandon Mueller, 20, both of Lindstrom, were not injured, the Star Tribune said.
State Patrol Sgt. Mike Melgaard said it was not clear how Davis' dogs ended up on the interstate. A second pit bull belonging to Davis was found unhurt, the Pioneer Press said.
