A Familiar Face
Hello Minnesota! Homecoming Headquarters is excited to present our Campus-Wide Activities Intern, Alec Bronston. Alec is returning for his second year as a Homecoming Intern and we're excited to have him back! In addition to the Homecoming Committee, Alec is a co-chair for Spring Jam 2011, and has served as a 2010 Orientation Leader, a 2010 University Senator elect, and a 2009 Student Legislative Advocate for the Minnesota Student Association.
Alec is originally from Wisconsin, but his Minnesota pride runs deep. In addition to routing for the Gophers with his little sisters, he also is a Chicago sports fan. Alec has had the opportunity to travel around the world; he's backpacked through Europe, traveled all over Peru, and even caught an anaconda in Venezuela!
As for Campus-Wide Activities, Alec's responsibilities include planning the Homecoming Concert, Pep-Fest, Gopherfest and competitions such as the campus wide scavenger hunt. Alec has some new ideas he is excited to share with the University
and looks forward to continuing the great traditions surrounding Homecoming. Alec has a new team of Homecoming Committee Volunteers to help him as well to ensure 2011 is the best Homecoming yet!
Speaking of our volunteer committee...Homecoming Headquarters is also excited to announce our finalized Committee members. Be sure to check back in to hear about our new Committee members and to see how they're helping to bring you the best Homecoming possible!
Brenna is also committed to community service outside of her Homecoming Internship; she volunteers at La Conexión, a non-profit Latino community center in Minneapolis. Brenna is excited to help make this Homecoming memorable for all students, staff, and alumni and will be working hard over the coming months to ensure Homecoming Headquarters outdoes itself!
As a sophomore studying Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource & Industrial Relations Management, Brett is constantly on the move. As if three majors weren't enough, Brett is also a member of Delta Sigma Pi, the secretary for the Carlson School of Management (CSOM) Business Board, a member of the CSOM Business Week Committee, and an officer for Business Professionals of America. Phew! So how does Brett manage to balance all this? Maybe he picked up a few tips from watching gymnastics? After all, - Brett is an avid gymnastics watcher and in addition to learning the art of balance, he also happens to have mastered the one handed cartwheel.
As head of Competitons & Royalty, Brett will be working to organize judging and recruitment of royalty candidates as well as ensuring their involvement at various Homecoming events throughout the week including coronation at the Pep Fest. Brett will also be leading the traditional competitions this year which include planning the Flag Football Tournament, Lip Sync Contest and Cheer Competition. Brett is eager to begin planning and is already hard at work to bring Minnesota another great Homecoming.
