Ready to Roll
Hello Minnesota! Once again we're back with another fantastic intern for you to learn a little about. Homecoming Headquarters is excited to introduce our new Competitions & Royalty Intern, Brett Johnston. As a sophomore studying Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource & Industrial Relations Management, Brett is constantly on the move. As if three majors weren't enough, Brett is also a member of Delta Sigma Pi, the secretary for the Carlson School of Management (CSOM) Business Board, a member of the CSOM Business Week Committee, and an officer for Business Professionals of America. Phew! So how does Brett manage to balance all this? Maybe he picked up a few tips from watching gymnastics? After all, - Brett is an avid gymnastics watcher and in addition to learning the art of balance, he also happens to have mastered the one handed cartwheel.
As head of Competitons & Royalty, Brett will be working to organize judging and recruitment of royalty candidates as well as ensuring their involvement at various Homecoming events throughout the week including coronation at the Pep Fest. Brett will also be leading the traditional competitions this year which include planning the Flag Football Tournament, Lip Sync Contest and Cheer Competition. Brett is eager to begin planning and is already hard at work to bring Minnesota another great Homecoming.
Before Homecoming Headquarters signs off, we'd like to remind everyone that Homecoming Committee 2011 applications are available until February 9th. So, if you're interested in helping plan the parade, competitions, Thank-U or help with marketing and communications, be sure to send us that application! We look forward to finding a group of dedicated volunteers looking to share their Minnesota pride and make Homecoming 2011 the best yet.
