Seen On Campus - What Do You Think?

I'm going to describe some of the things I see around campus and ask you what you think. Are you surprised at what I saw? Do you think the people involved could have handled the situation better? One of the things I like about being on campus is that I see things I never in the world expected to see. Read on for an example.

E-Mailing Your Adviser. Wondering how to get the information you want the first time you send an e-mail? I saw these hints on e-mailing your adviser on the Languages and Mathematics Community web site. They're pretty good suggestions. Check them out http://langmath.class.umn.edu/documents/Emailing_your_CLA_Adviser.html

Knowing Where You're Going. A young woman was walking across the Washington Avenue bridge with her cell phone to her ear. "Mom! It's there! Just look at the top of the page. Yes, Nicholson Hall. But what room?" I'm not exactly sure what was going on, but my guess is that the woman was on her way to a class or other meeting in Nicholson Hall and had forgotten the room number. Why do you think she called her mother? What else could she have done to solve her dilemma? For instance, what if her mother had not picked up the phone? What could the woman have done? Comments, please.
