Walker Art Center Response
I really enjoyed going to the Walker Art Center. I found it to be unlike any other art museum I have been too. I liked how interactive a lot of the art work was and how the concept of art was left open and not restricted to just paintings and sculptures. One art work I thought was really unique was the man twisting around on the floor in a completely empty white room. This was a new form of art that I was never exposed to before. I also thought it was very different and innovative when a person would break out in song as part of the artwork. It was a creative form of art that combined sound and visual as well as 3D live human interaction. My favorite art innovation was the room with three screens and three bean chairs to sit on. All three screens played something different but each screen played a typical day in a person’s life, portraying normal life events. There was nothing interesting going on in each screen separately but it became interesting when you watched all three screens at once. I also really like the white sculpture of a car that had been in an accident. The sculpture was actually made from a real car that had been in an accident and the sculptor purchased it from a junk yard. I really enjoyed the Walker Art Center it made me realize how anything can be used for your palate.
